Otsuichi’s new work of fiction hits stores today nationwide in English. While although not a light novel, Otsuichi has been quite active in the light novel field. His light novel “Calling you”, and his short stories in FAUST, have been released in English, along with “GOTH”, which while writing, he attempted to make a light novel.

His new work, “ZOO”, is a part of the second pair of novels to be released under Viz’s Haikasoru label, along with “Usurper of the Sun”.

The following is the officially given synopsis for the book…

A man receives a photo of his girlfriend every day in the mail…so that he can keep track of her body’s decomposition. A deathtrap that takes a week to kill its victims. Haunted parks and a child with the power to do anything at all, and his poor unfortunate parents. These are just a few of the stories by Otsuichi, Japan’s master of dark fantasy.

You can read an Excerpt from the novel on the official Haikasoru website.

I really like the novels under the Haikasoru label. At least from the summaries. But currently I dont have any money for them. Anyone knows which novels will be published under this label in the future?
