TokyoPop! Where’s Volume 4?
The Full Metal Panic! novel series made its debut in the nation of Japan in September of 1998, and around eleven years later, 20 novels have been released in Japan, and 3 in America. Shouji Gatou’s story has become an instant success, creating exciting and hard to forget characters.
In 2007, TokyoPop announced its aquisition of the novels for an English release.
The novel’s have been met with much success, even in America. The first novel is still in the top 25 best selling light novels selling, according to Barnes and Noble stats from online.
But, the last time an English volume of Full Metal Panic! was released, was last Summer. Novel #4 had been slated for a December 2008 release, but as many might know, it never happened. TokyoPop has remained silent on the novels, never answering the cries of fans on their official forums.
So are they coming or not? They were never listed as canceled, and no further news has been released regarding them.
I did a google search for any information I could find, and found that Amazon.ca listed the fourth novel, “Ending Day by Day Part 1”, as having a February 8, 2011 release. But of course, as many know from past listings of dates, they are rarely acurate regarding the release dates.
So will TokyoPop ever release another Full Metal Panic? It’s not really sure.
For one thing, it was announced on Anime News Network a while back that the 3rd volume of “Trinity Blood: Reborn on the Mars” would be released, along with the next Chibi Vampire novel.
Full Metal Panic is seemingly selling much better then the second Trinity Blood series according to Barnes and Noble stats, yet, its status is still unsure.
What are your thoughts regarding this? Do you want the fourth novel to be released?
